A.Y. Klimenko and D.A. Klimenko

Glasstree Academic Publishing

2019

The book has two main parts. The first part gives a concise but consistent account of the progress of technology: its past, present and future, and its effect on the society. The second part of the book presents technological development as a highly effective evolutionary process and compares technological progress to other complex evolutionary processes. Examples and comparisons from different fields (e.g. history, economics, biology) are also considered in the second part. The book has 187 pages and 52 colour illustrations.

The book endeavours to examine many questions including

  1. Why do useful technologies disappear?
  2. What is the future of engineering?
  3. What technological changes are occurring at this very moment?
  4. How will new emerging technologies affect us?
  5. Does the coming knowledge society need new approaches to education?
  6. Why does history tend to repeat itself?
